Jared Deck is an award-winning musician, business owner, and serves as State Representative for House District 44.

Born in a rural hospital that shuttered its doors while he was a teen, Jared has seen firsthand the issues of access to quality care. As a consumer board member for Variety Care since 2014, he has served as Treasurer, Vice Chair, and Secretary. 

When not at the Capitol, Jared Deck works as a touring singer-songwriter. He’s a former winner of the Woody Guthrie Songwriting Competition and was named to Rolling Stone’s 10 New Artists You Need To Know.

Don Nevard graduated with his BBA from Ohio University, in 1969.  He received his J.D. (Juris Doctorate), from Ohio State University in 1973. 

He has been a member of the Oklahoma Bar Associations since 1973; along with the Federal District Courts Oklahoma; Oklahoma Supreme Court; United States Supreme Court; and the United States Tax Court.  He is also a current member of the American Bar Association.

Don has served from 2009 to the present on the Board of Directors of Variety Care, Inc.  From 2007 to the present, he has served on the Board of Directors Temple B’Nai Israel – Chairman of Building Committee, Member of Investments Committee. 

Amy has been on the board since April 2006 and also currently serves on the Variety Care Foundation board. She previously served on the committee that merged the Variety Health Center and Oklahoma Community Health Services into what Variety Care is today. She says she looks forward to expanding Variety Care’s reach in the community and serving more patients in the future.

"Many people who are the backbone of the Oklahoma economy don’t have access to quality health care. It’s important we provide everyone in the state with affordable health care services to improve the well-being of each Oklahoman and the state as a whole.

Mariano joined the Variety Care board in June 2009. He served as vice president of the board for one year before becoming board president in July 2011. He believes providing access to health care is an important step in improving the health of Oklahoma.

After seeing the commitment of the staff at Variety Care, I was so impressed with the operations that I wanted to help them in their mission to better the community.”

Julie Watson, M.D. was named the Chief Medical Officer of INTEGRIS Health in 2020. She is responsible for the system medical staff services, medical informatics, research, utilization management, graduate medical education and oversees the clinical enterprise with Chief Nurse Executive Kerri Bayer. Prior to her appointment to the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Watson served as Vice President of Medical Affairs for INTEGRIS Health and Chief Medical Officer for INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center.

Dr. Watson completed her undergraduate degree at University of Oklahoma and receiver her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and her neonatal-perinatal fellowship at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She also holds a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois-Chicago with an emphasis in Health Policy. Dr. Watson began her neonatology career in the NICU at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center as a board-certified neonatologist in 2008. 

Maria Garcia was born to a migrant farmworker family in South Texas.  She moved to Oklahoma to raise a family in 1979.  As a former 1995 “AmeriCorps” member and a Graduate of Western Oklahoma State College in 1997, healthcare has always been very important to Ms. Garcia.  She has been an advocate for farmworker health for the past 35 yrs.  Having worked on a grant with the Oklahoma Primary Care Association to open the first farmworker health clinic in the Southwest part of the state.  As the site-coordinator to the former “Vida Y Salud” clinic in Altus, OK, many farmworkers received healthcare that wasn’t available before and now proud to be on the board of the largest community health center in Oklahoma and working in a program that is always striving to provide better health care to all Oklahomans.  Together we can make a difference. 

Titi has dedicated her life to serving the Lord by serving others. She takes great pleasure in ensuring that the needy and the less privileged are well taken care of. Even before her call to serve on the board, she has been a crusader for quality health care. She is a strong advocate for quality and affordable health care for her church and the community at large. She believes in Variety Care’s mission of “Making quality health care affordable and accessible to all."  She volunteers her time raising awareness to health care inequity in the community and promoting social change for the under-insured and uninsured to have access to affordable health and wellness care services. She cherishes her call in bridging the gap between the highs and the lows, making everyone feel welcome and accommodated. She is a wife, mother, conference speaker, role model and mentor. 

Lou has been the CEO of Variety Care since 2005. Since joining the organization in 2002, she has overseen tremendous growth in Variety Care's capacity, services and resources.  She graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in Political Science and Psychology. She completed masters programs at the Kellogg School of Business (Northwestern University), and at the University of Michigan.

The CEO serves on the executive committee ex officio without a vote.

Jered Davidson is a partner at The Public Finance Law Group PLLC where his practice entails all areas of governmental and public finance. He devotes most of his practice to serving as bond counsel to state and local governmental issuers for projects ranging from infrastructure, single and multifamily housing, healthcare, education and economic development projects.  He joined the Variety Care board as one of two representatives in the strategic alignment with NorthCare, where he served as President from 2022-2024. He resides in Edmond with his wife, Lindsey, and son, Duke. 

Amy, a Clinton native, graduated from Clinton High School before earning her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where she also played Collegiate tennis. She began her career in the Insurance Industry before moving to Domino C-Store, where she was promoted to Vice President.  Amy demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the employees of Domino,  managing benefits and employee relations.  She now brings this commitment to the board of Variety Care. She retired from Domino, her family business in 2018 to focus on her family and to serve her community. 

In addition to her career, Amy is the wife of Frank A. Sewell IV. They have made their home and raised their children in Nichols Hills. Together, they have four teen and young adult children: Annakate, Olivia, Sydney, and Asa. Amy and Frank have a loving and active family. They enjoy travel, Lake Eufaula, Colorado, National Parks, and, of course, University of Oklahoma Sports.

Amy now brings her compassion for people to the board of Variety Care. She is passionate that all individuals have access to quality healthcare without unnecessary barriers to entry. It’s her pleasure to serve the community on the Variety Care board in order to help others receive access to care.
